grandma's flower garden, tumbling blocks, or cathedral windows are all enjoyable (travel) projects that you can do the prep work ahead of time then only need a few supplies with you- sewing kit with needles, thread, small embroidery scissors- templates (for the first 2) and zip locks of fabrics.
