Rural01, The finished block size(in the quilt)will be 12" but when you make it it is 121/2" so you'll have a 1/4" seam allowance on each side to attach it to the next block. So while you're making the block it should end up at 12 1/2".

I print the patterns but don't really pay attention to the exact measurement of the 1" test block. I would think it will be ok being 1/16 off. I'm new too so I'm by no means an expert. Good luck.
