Mary,

With my two youngest daughters I can fully understand them NOT
getting the artistic bug because in all honesty I am NOT their birth
mom, I am only the "wicked" step-mom.
I can accept the youngest daughter not being "crafty" I like having
my "brainy" child too. She is a Freshman student at Truman State
working on a double major in Chemistry & Biology with the goals to
become a High School Science Teacher.

But with my oldest daughter she has learned to crochet by going
to youtube and watching videos. I USE to crochet, but haven't in
over 25 years. She likes sewn things, and even bought a sewing
machine a couple years ago, but the guy she was living with had
a young son and he kept pushing her machine off the table onto
the floor until it finally broke and the father refused to do anything
to replace it so she lost the "sewing" bug before it had a chance to
stick with her.
