Great idea. I made my board too . My brother had made me one while I was still down in GA but it was made out of 3/4 exterior plywood. HEAVY!!! And after I moved my ironing board kept tipping over since it was now on carpet instead of concrete. So I found a new shorter, wider one ironing board in goodwill and went to Home Depot got one of their precut 2x4 pieces attached pieces at the sides and end and covered. Its a little short on the one end but much lighter and it doesn't tip now.
