Dear Passionate Quilters:

As part of my master’s thesis project for the Art Therapy Psychology Department at Notre Dame de Namur University, I am collecting information on the characteristics and therapeutic properties of quilting. The aim of this study is to identify the qualities of quilting that may be useful to the art therapy process, additionally, to recognize the implications for the art therapy field. For the purpose of this study, the term “quilting” includes patchwork, piecing, stitching, quilting and quilt-making. Quilting is defined as stitching or connecting together layers of a material.

I would be extremely appreciative if you could complete the 21-item anonymous questionnaire by clicking on the attached link. In order to participate, you must have some experience with quilting, whether it be relatively minor or significant. You will first be asked closed-ended and open-ended questions related to your experience with quilting. This will be followed by a few demographic questions that will not be used to identify you. Please be honest and answer to the best of your ability.

By completing this survey, you agree to participate in the research study. Your answers will remain anonymous and confidential and all your basic human rights will be protected at all times. The results of this study may be published.

Thank you so much for your participation in this research study!

Sincerely,

Autumn Powell
