the bias maker takes the fabric and puts the fold in nicely when you iron it down, but you have to guide it into the maker from the other side with it between thumb and finger to keep the center of the fabric in the center of the maker....the guiding is up to you... try staking the maker down to your ironing board so that you have a free hand and then place iron to the right of the maker, next to the skinny end... on top of the tape...get a few inches ironed and then just lay the iron on top, guide the fabric in with your left hand while you pull it thru with your right hand.... center of fabric to center of maker.....
