A bed runner is kind of like a table runner - you display it at the end of your bed usually over a light spread or plain sheet. I have made 3 using the D9P pattern with 9 inch blocks to make the D9P. the runners are usually 36 to 42 inches wide and the length is determined by the size of your bed and how much drop you desire. Mine for a queen was 2 x 8 and I did not add borders. I made two for wedding gifts and they were well received - used soft whites, beiges and taupes one had a aqua highlight and the other a mauve.
