I have had a few people start with 'Quilting for people who Don't Have Time to Quilt' byMarti Michel. Published by American School of Needlework. I am pretty sure it is no longer in print. The Alex Anderson books are good with easy projects. Academy Books are awesome and full of information, but are a bit more pricey.
