I do see what you mean. If you look at the original quilt picture here http://www.dearjane.com/ , you can see that TR1 vertical stripes just touch the edge and TR2 has the white border around it. You can see here http://thatquilt.blogspot.com/2010/05/tr-1.html that the block works out that way just the way it is drafted and assembled. If you look at TR2 here http://thatquilt.blogspot.com/2009/01/tr-2.html it seems that in the second picture, the seam allowance would be right to accomplish the border around the design... however the third picture looks like the seam allowance has been trimmed away, which seems wrong. I think it would be fine if that outside seam allowance was left on.
