I know you took the needle out, but please remove it again. Now remove the bobbin case. Now try turning the handwheel(always turn the hand wheel towards you.) Does it move freely now? If it doesn't, you probably have thread caught somewhere you can't see and a repair is advised. If it does move freely, replace the bobbin case. (Don't forget that there is an order to this process. If you have removed the needle plate for any reason, you have to remove the bobbin case, put the needle plate back on, then put the bobbin case back in, then the cover over the bobbin area, then put the bobbin in. Now put in a new needle. Thread it. ( If you have a needle down button, touch it, touch it again, this now has placed your needle in the perfect position for your needle threader to work.) Turn your hand wheel toward you, all should move freely. Good luck.
