I got it working. I took the cover off the thread take up leaver area. I used my little brush to clean out any lint on the needle holder shaft, then put on tiny drop of oil and it is working smooth now. Load off my mind. Hopefully it will work fine from this point on. Thanks everyone for your suggestions and support.
This will happen with my Singer if the top threads breaks. I have learned to take off top cover by the take up lever and sure enough there is usually thread wrapped around a certain area. I have to take something off remove the thread. I was shown this by a machine repair shop. I do not take any other part of the top cover off.
