If it's a Japanese clone that was made with the left sitting needle, there is no way to change it. That's the way they were designed. It should have feet that came with it especially made for the left sitting needle? That's the problem with some of these...they are not loved by quilters for this feature. However you can just use a 1/4" guide of some sort on the bed of your machine for piecing. If it's NOT one of the left stitching machines then the mechanism may be stuck. It's really hard to tell without opening the machine and playing with it, myself.
