I so agree with the last two quilters. I've written about this before on this forum. The Janome manual annoys me because nowhere in there does it mention oiling these machines in that little wick hole (upper left) under the bobbin case. Some machines don't seem to need it but others growl, rattle and the bobbin case literally jumps out of position. Even your dealer may not tell you about this. My dealer kept telling me it was "operator error" kept the machine for six weeks and it came back with the very same problem. I found out about it on the Janome 6500/6600 forum but other Janomes can have this problem too. My quilt buddy had a very noisy Janome Gem and that drop of oil cured her machine too. Hope this solves your problem.
