Default Flying Pterodactyls

This quilt has a story. I posted pics of a quilt I made for DD for Christmas
http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...s-t171810.html
When I was complaining that I was having issues with finding bright batiks in my area, my DS sent me a box of batiks and ‘blenders’ that she purchased from Connecting Threads sale in her town. They were all ¼ yard pieces and I was so excited, you’d have thought I had a box of jewels in the mail!
When I made DD’s quilt, I misjudged the size (math is NOT my forte’) and made a large flying geese border (made from left over fabric that went into making the sashing around blocks) to put around the outside edge. They were WAY too wide and would have made the quilt drag on the ground. I removed those borders and applied more appropriate ones to DD’s quilt. She was very happy with it by the way! When I told another DS what I had done, and the size of the actual borders (25” wide) her comment was “Those aren’t flying geese, those are flying pterodactyls!”

As you can see the borders went together to make another King sized quilt…named by DS… behold my ‘Flying Pterodactyl” quilt.

Thank you Sisters! I love you!
