I had one knee done in May and the other 5 weeks later. Home the day after surgery and rehab for 5 weeks on each knee. Continue "rehab" with exercise is ongoing, but I am so much more comfortable than before surgery. Actually walked a large mall at Christmas time this year -- a first in many years.
