It is definitely a feathered star. The sashing is not flying geese. If you look closely, it is a small straight strip with half square triangles attached on both sides.. It is a gorgeous quilt.
I think the reason that it's hard to recognize as a feathered star is because it is all one color. That being said it is one beautiful quilt. I never thought of sashing that way but it sure makes the quilt!
