You will probably get a lot of different opinions about this. I bought the straight stitch plate for my Bernina, got tired of the machine eating my fabric, I used starch and everything and nothing worked. However you do have to remember to change it, when your not just chain stitching. I have broken a couple of needles. My machine does'nt eat my fabric anymore!!
