I am so excited about this idea. I had a magnetic strip that I almost threw away last week. After I read this suggestion I immediately began to think, but where would I keep the wooden stick. My machine sits in front of a window. BUT get this. The magnetic strip is currently stuck to a metal file cabinet that is supporting the table top for my sewing machine. I just had/have to move the magnet to the other side of the drawers so that it is within reach as I sew. I don't even need the stick! Thank you, thank you.
