Yes, it was very lucky having such a great handyman until he developed COPD and can't really do this kind of stuff anymore. I didn't know how spoiled I was until his disability knocked him down. I would simply say, "can you fix this or build that?" and it was done.....and done right. That was the perk -- he was very anal about his work. If it wasn't perfect, it wasn't done.

Glad to see you already thought of the cabinets in that corner. You're going to love your new room!!!
