Of the full layouts - I like the 2nd one best. It is the white diagonal that draws my eye. BUT... I really like the 3rd picture. So cool to get a windmill effect from squares! Your checked " formerly cornerstones" will lose a bunch in the seams though and don't know if the resulting triangles would be awkward or not. The squares in the fabric pattern would be all different.
You can't go wrong with black, white and red all over no matter how hard you might try.
Sure to be a beauty once you decide.
