Default Black and White by Doris

I was expecting another scrappy quilt from Doris when she surprised me with this black and white Cambridge Stars quilt to be quilted in January. Beautiful pieceing by Doris. I think the top is very elegent with the black and white fabrics and has such a wonderful bright, clean look. The pattern can be found in Fon's and Porter Magazine, May/June 2010. I did a serpentine tube stitching on the borders, serpentine stitching on the seam lines of the pieced blocks, and then stitched a motif called "Elaborate Blocks" by Meredith England in the large white areas. To stitch the Elaborate Blocks I chose a triangle motif and stitched it four times, turning it 90 degrees each time so it would fill the large area nicely. All quilted on my non-computerized Gammill with no stitch regulator.
