reading along and it is soooo great to see that there are quilters using and loving thier scraps. i am in an area and have rec'd bags of scraps fr mil church quilt group. fr friends too. am teased at one of my quilt groups for the size of my pieces when i am working on another mini. one lady got teased for the number of times she mis-cut a piece...she was loudly informed to 'be more careful...the pieces keep getting smaller and smaller and that's probably how pam got started!!!'...well, no not exactly. but the feedsack, antique prints etc that i got from estate sales/auctions and of course sally collins http://www.sallycollins.org/ were the biggest incentives. i took a class from ms. collins yrs back which was an immense help in refinining my technique. plus i got to meet an amazing artist/quilter person. i save/accept scraps down to 1" in size...they often need trimming for accuracy of size which becomes sooo much more important in miniature/small scale piecing.
