Try turning the knob in one direction fully and seeing if that does the trick. If not, then try turning it in the other direction fully to see if it works. And if not then don't worry about it.
These are things that don't bother me as long as the machine sews and still I can wind the bobbin. Ok, seriously, I do know that this could irritate others. Maybe someone else can help you with a solution.
