I'm sorry but hearing "cut" and "crochet/knit" in the same sentence makes me sick to my stomach.

Questions??????? Are you intending to keep the blankets in the family?

If you are just trying to use them up, contact a nursing home or such. Maybe they can use them.

The only changes I'd make would be to possibly trim them out with additional yarn------------if you know how to crochet. Outside of that, don't alter them.
