I use the paper rolls to measure borders for my quilt top. I pin one end to the middle top and one end to the middle side. I unroll the paper to the opposite ends and cut. This the exact size I need the borders to be. It doesn't matter if it measures to a weird 1/64" measurement. No numbers needed, just cut to the length of the paper roll.

I read about doing borders this way years ago in a quilt magazine. I believe it was a man who wrote the article. One of the best tips I ever got!
