I haven't tried echo quilting yet. Probably would use the walking foot for that. Others will be able to answer that better.
Yes, the foot DOES look like the blind hem foot for Janome! Odd...they have 2 feet the same with two different names!
I actually tried the foot with 2 pieces of fabric and warm and natural inside. Didn't set it with aligned edges to see if it's better than the walking foot. To me, having the straight stitches in the ditch is more important than the walking foot's advantage. I use spray adhesive and LOTS of pins when I do quilting. So -- it's a toss up!!!!
