I cut 2 1/2" strip on a 45 degree angle. Stitch them together to get the length you need for your quilt. I usually add 10" so that I don't run out. Fold the strip in half (press your diagonal seams open) and press. I machine stitch to the front, fold over and hand stitch to the back. This is my favorite binding as it is so forgiving.
