I have the Ott sewing lamp. I set it right by my machine. I DO NOT LIKE IT! Not enough light. So, I have an old lamp and can see sew much better (play on words). I am probably the only one in the world that does not like her Ott light. It is the folding task lamp! You are not the only one! I was thrilled to buy the new tulip shaped one in my favorite color blue from Michael's on Thanksgiving day for $17.99 (usually $59.99) There is also a coupon from OTT for a free little pocket light that usually sells for $19.99, if you send in the required proofs of purchase. A terrific deal by any standard. I put it next to my sewing machine, adjusted it every way I could but it just wasn't bright enough to throw the light as far as I needed. I couldn't stand the cool bluish light it cast off. I finally returned it.
