The fusible tape smells funny but I use it all the time. I think if the quilting is thorough, you don't have to worry about it coming unglued eventually. Unless, of course, you don't quilt closely. I can't imagine making strips of fusible interfacing instead of the tape - too much work! Different strokes for different folks...
