I am just getting into the dvds, as they arrived 3 days ago. He goes through every little detail, and you can stop the dvd as you go through, to do immediately what he has demonstrated. I like them so far. I do not have the book you are referring to, so cannot speak to any duplication of material.
I am a visual learner, and pick up things better if I see them, as compared to reading about them. For me, the dvds are proving very worth the price.
