I used to have a sewing room in my basement when I lived up north and we had basements. It was chilly down there in the winter. It wasn't fancy, just an area to sew. I seemed to have enough light, now that I'm older I probably wouldn't be able to see very well. My two sewing rooms since we moved to FL. have been in a front bedroom with double windows (I'm nosey now that I'm older--LOL--It runs in the family, my grandmother used to sit on a stool in a window and watch everything that went on outside--poor lady, she was bored) and I love it. Plenty of light and I have a nice view. I wish I had more room, but I overflow into the dining room when need be. I'm always thinking of ways to re-do my room. I know I need to put wood shelves in the closet. The weight of stacking plastic storage containers 4 high with fabric is squashing the bottom containers.
