i have the backporch acrylic templates. i tend to lay them on the fabric and trace around with a pencil. i lay the template next to the lines and draw again. i save as much fabric as i can that way. then i cut them out with scissors.
now, when sewing curves just match centers and sides/ends. you can fold each piece to find the centers and crease with your fingers to make a fold mark you can see to pin the pieces together. they are not terribly hard to do. have fun!
