Default My Bargain Machine

Hi..I wanted to tell you of my bargain.

I was given a new Janome overlocker a couple of Christmases ago by my hubby (because I wanted one, and my old one had done a LOT of work) and I gave my old one (Janome JL603A - the old green and cream, 3 thread one) to my daughter, who is just starting to play with sewing.

I was sewing something on my new one, which I do love, but it wouldn't go through the thickest part so I started hankering after one like my old machine again.

I found one on eBay and got it for $41...a bargain I thought. We picked it up yesterday and got it home and we couldn't lift the presser foot - the lever was totally seized. And it had some surface rust on the metal in places as well. Understandable as this machine is about 30 years old. Hubby worked on in it and got it going and cleaned it up and it sews beautifully. It had barely any, if in fact any, lint inside and I contacted the seller again and he said his wife rarely used it and it had just been sitting for years. Which means, now that it's all running again I have an almost new machine even though it's so old. I think I got a real bargain

I'm going to get some new blades for it (they're still available) and I will have a lovely backup machine...or maybe even first machine...lol.
