sunnyhope I would sew a strip of say like bluejean deman are a canvas type materal between where your sewing your seems and that will hold it ..
I made some food tote bags with canvas and three of them that I would use for meats I put in the inside a plastic used from a cut up shower curtain and sewed strips of heavy deman between the seem area and they hold just fine..
