the one i made my daughter was about that size- and perfect! they always put up a large tree and by the time it goes up over the tree stand (and can be gathered a bit up there if needed- it comes out to just barely the outer rim of the bottom tree branches.
it would also make a good table cloth- or square it up (add corners) to make it a bed quilt.
