You would be better off using the layer cakes form the same line because you need the extra inch around for ragging, If you use those the squares would be 9 inches around after ragging(4 inches if you use the charms) you would calculate how large you want the quilt 10 squares across and down would leave you with 90 inch by 90 inch quilt and you would need 100 square. for lap If you do 6 by 7 you would have 54 inch by 63 inch and you would need 56 squares, am I making sense
