If you are concerned about bearding, you can put a layer of cheesecloth between the wool batt and the fabric, both top and backing. If you dye the cheesecloth, you will not lose intensity of the color of your silk and wool fabrics.
I have used Quilters Dream wool batting and it does not beard at all because it is thermally bonded. I have also used it in primarily black quilts with no loss of intensity in color. It's truly a dream in all respects.
