Lily reminds me of a sweet kitty we named Spook - we got to enjoy his company for a very short time before he was hit by a car.
He was a stray, nearly starved and had an injured foot when we found him in our garage (which has a cat door). It took several weeks for him to trust us enough to let us touch him, but then he was a lap cat whenever we were outdoors.
I was getting ready to make an appointment to get him neutered and vaccinated when we lost him. I wonder if he was deaf and didn't hear the vehicle coming? I have read that white cats are sometimes deaf.

Quite frequently male, all white cats are deaf. I learned this in school! I'm working on my Associates Degree in Vet Tech.
