the smallest throat on a Bailey is 13 inches, and their cheapest machine.
it is used for quilting only. I does not have feed dogs, so you cannot sit down and sew seams on it.
I knew I would not be happy with a 9" throat because of the small quilting area. Once the quilt is rolled, it takes up space within the throat of the machine.
I have had one for 4 years and have been very happy with it.
