This is a thoughtful scrappy quilt. I made a crib size quilt backed with minkee. My daughter just told me that whenever anyone in the family is sick, they want the pink minkee quilt. Even the guys. It is so comforting. But it was hard to work with. Lots of pins. What was it like on such a large quilt?
I had no trouble with the layering of it with Minkee. I use the basting spray, so just had some pins around the very edge - I find the basting spray works much better than basting pins. And I do the layering vertically, on my design board, which is batting mounted on a board which is mounted to the sewing room wall. It's much easier than laying it on the floor, or finding a large enough table to do it. It takes me no time at all.
