I'd like to know how this was assembled, too.
I'm thinking there are two blocks... #1 is the simple 9-patch and #2 is the 9-patch with a sashing-type border; THEN they are sewn together; add setting side triangles with a colored corner square; add a border, etc. But now that I look at the pic again... I'm confused..

Please share how it's constructed. It's so intriguing (challenging!).
