I also had purchased a singer from an auction place and the shipper did not think the machine would get damaged, but he did put insurance on it. I had to send in a claim and pictures of the machine and the box. I got a full refund of my money and I took the machine to my favorite repairman and he fixed her up only paid $4 over what she cost/shp which was returned to me. Have had a few others do the same thing. Figure a heavy machine will never get thrown around. they must be idiots because I am sure they drop a lot of stuff and not necessary to throw it. I am still looking for a thread holder for 3/4 spool Juki babylock serger that was broke.
