JanRN ... hope you didn't choke on your cookie, when you saw that D9P! Believe me, it's my one and only! I'm so not into applique either. That makes my 3rd attempt (2 in FWS and 1 here)
Honchey ... that's the same way I did the centre circle. When I pressed, I then spritzed it with some starch, so that helped hold it good and steady as I did my hand stitching. I noticed, I didn't get it totally smooth around the edge though.
The large circle, I did on the machine .... measured 1/2, 1/4 points and then pinned pinned pinned ....... and oh, kind of did it as PP, by sewing all the templates with running stitches to the fabrics and then went at it.
