Last week I got bad new about my horse. He is a pet and a friend. The vet said his weight loss is due to bad teeth and all his front teeth need to be pulled in order for him to not be in severe pain. The cost is over $2000. Bud is 24 years old. The life expectancy for his breed is 25-30 years with a few horses living to be 40 years old. The vet recommended putting him down
I am sad and unwillingly to put him down (that cost around $600). Right now he seems happy on the pain medication. If I had $2000 my daughter wouldn't be in public school, I just can't pay that much for a pet. We have decided to wait until after spring and keep him on the pain medication and then decide what to do.
