I own 2 Pfaff 1471's. Went to a quilt retreat last month and took both. The one I started using decided to malfunction and would only sew forward in a straight line. I didn't take my book along so when I got home I looked up in the "troubleshooting" section and found what to do to reset it and WHOOPIE! it works just like new again. Was really thankful that I had bought both along so I was still able to sew.
Congratulations on your find. You will love it and they seem to run forever. Actually I bought the 2nd one so I could have another project going w/o having to change thread or feet
