Default What is the earliest date for a machine quilted quilt

I have an old blue and white quilt my Mother told me was very old. It has the muslin that looks like cheese cloth on the back!
However, it is machine quilted. I took it to my local quilt shop and the lady there said that the fabric looked like maybe the late
part of the 1800's. I realize that sewing machines came out around 1850's, so it had to be after that.

I find it so amazing how the sewing machine changed women's lives. Prior to sewing machines children learned to sew by the
time they were 6 years old. After sewing machines made their way to the home, the spinning and weaving had also became
mechanized, and women could buy their fabric instead of making it. Of course this was also the beginning of our got to have society.
I just don't think we can blame the sewing machine for that!
Thanks for your help,
Barbara
