This may not be helpful, but it took me a good year scouting here and there for white-on-red fabrics and red-on-white fabrics for my next queen-size bed quilt (Massachusetts Stars/Split Stars alternating with Log Cabins, which can be purchased online at e-patterns, http://www.e-patternscentral.com/det...l?prod_id=7481). At first I was really "matchy-matchy" but found that I liked the subtle differences with variations in the reds and whites. I leaned toward the darker (rather than pinker or orange-y) reds, and stayed away from "blatent" tans, varying the whites and creams. It's actually softer on the eyes.

Unless you have seen a line of fabrics in person, the shades of reds are tough to discern. I'm afraid your surest best to get the colors you want is to do it in person if you've not seen the fabric before.
