Thank you for the compliment, it's been a labor of love for me and I'm glad to hear that someone else finds it appealing too!
The colored pieces are fused and their raw edges are supposed to be covered up by the the leading. The leading has two lines of stitching, one along each edge. Now that the top is done, I've found a couple spots where the leading doesn't cover the raw edges which is frustrating.
