First of all, I can't wait to see one at Joann's for myself. We all know that the outer shell is plastic. All machines made today are I would suppose. However, this new Singer is not completely all plastic as is stated on the Singer website if you look for it:
"Heavy-Duty Metal Frame The internal rigid support holds all the mechanisms in perfect alignment for
skip-free sewing and overall durability."
If I had the money I would buy it and one of these days I will, I am sure!
