Yep, that's pretty ugly alright. It makes me wonder what the makers were thinking. I was given an ugly fat quarter at a quilt camp one time. I thought they were giving them away because they couldn't sell them. I still have it laying around not knowing what to do with it.
I can tell you what I wouldn't do. I wouldn't fussy cut it.
Maybe if you cut it up small enough and use it, it might not look so bad.
